Draft. This describes what the app actually does, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Items marked [to confirm] must be filled in before launch.

Borrl is a private diary of your nights out that you share with people you choose. This page says what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get rid of it. It is deliberately short, because we collect little.

Who we are

Borrl is operated by [to confirm: registered entity name, address, KvK number]. You can reach us at info@borrl.app.

What we collect

What we do not collect

No analytics, no advertising networks, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers. Borrl contains no third-party SDK that profiles you.

Why we are allowed to

[to confirm with counsel: the bases above]

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data, and we never will.

How long we keep it

Your content stays until you delete it or delete your account. [to confirm: retention period for backups, and for reports and blocks after an account is deleted]

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → Delete account. This removes your account, the nights you posted, your comments, your likes, and your place in other people's follower lists. It cannot be undone. You do not need to email us and we will not try to talk you out of it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and take it elsewhere. Email info@borrl.app and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handled it you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

Borrl is about alcohol and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this page we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
